Packing Options
1. Get Estimates & Choose Moving Services
Contact local movers for estimates. We encourage you to shop around, but we are confident you’ll appreciate our customer service and budget-friendly moving services! Decide if you’ll be packing yourself, utilizing a packing service, or a tear-down/setup service.
2. Prepare For A New Address
Notify your post office, DMV, health service providers, employers, religious organizations, utility providers, friends, family, and newspapers/periodicals of the date of your move and your new address.
3. Prepare For Necessities On Moving Day
On moving day, all your belongings will probably be in boxes, and you may be directing your movers on where to place the furniture. That means you’ll need to plan your meals for the day, but you’ll also need to make sure you have child care and/or a pet sitter lined up so you can concentrate!
You’ll also want to ensure that your new address doesn’t require specific parking permits for you or the moving vehicles. If you’re moving an office, you may need to reserve a loading dock or elevator, which may also apply to those moving into or out of an apartment.
4. If You’re Packing Yourself
Start early by packing loose items in drawers, putting away valuables, and carefully packing fragile pieces. If you need help procuring packing materials, let us know.
Mark boxes with a room name or abbreviation, such as DR for dining room or MBR for master bedroom. Consolidate boxes for certain rooms together and keep fragile items in a separate group. Note any fragile or damaged furniture so moving services avoid stressing those parts. Also, separate any items you’ll leave behind or dispose of.
